A1123D
This one came up in September 2011 with an asking price of $1,850. Included an original CB pickup and OEM case.
"Rock out like Dave Grohl! 1970 Ampeg Dan Armstrong model (sn # A11xxD) with original Ess & Ess case--both in great condition. Features modular CB pickup with all-original electronics. Pickguard surrounding selector switch has been previously repaired (see photo) and there is players' wear and slight "lean-to" damage on the back of the neck. All in all, very good condition with very few scratches or wear for a 40-year old guitar! Weighs in around 9-9 1/2 lbs. Feel free to ask questions. Free shipping within continental US--international bidders please request shipping quote"
Q: Full serial number? A: The full serial is A1123D. thanks! |
A1123D next came up for auction in March 2016 and sold for $1,550. This one seems to be in very nice condition, but it does look like the original Carling switch has been replaced along the way. Note the "LUV" residue on the accessory case lid - must have had some letters or something glued on there once.
"One of the most iconic guitars ever built in fantastic condition and all original down to the screws. This guitar still sounds and plays great with very little fret wear especially for its age. There are a few out there but this is the best one I've seen in over 20 years! And, besides, the fretboard has some of the most unique grain patterns I've come across on any instrument...just beautiful. Don't let this one belong to someone else. If you've ever wanted the "invisible" guitar, here it is."
