A114xD
Came up for auction in November 2011 with an initial asking price of $1,975, and ended up selling for $2,325. Seems to be in nice condition, seller wouldn't disclose the entire serial number (see pic) but it's a fairly narrow range and perhaps we'll see this one again. Seller was very clear in a subsequent e-mail that this was not A114D; confirmed it as a four-digit serial number and therefore a 1970 guitar. In another e-mail, seller said the pickup combo was an original Country Bass (CB) and a reissue Modern Drive (MD).
"Here we have a beautiful, 1969 original Dan Armstrong lucite guitar. The guitar is in above average condition. Minimal fret wear on a neck that plays like butter. Original PAF Grover Tuners, original bridge and one (1) original PU. I will also include 1 hotter re-issue pickup. All electronics are original. The case is a beautiful re-issue case made for these guitars. Think Keith Richards in the film "Gimme Shelter". Payment is by PayPal only and must be received within 24 hours of end of auction. Item will be re-listed after that. With "make an offer" feature I reserve the right to end sale at any time. Buyer agrees to pay ALL shipping fees, which includes insurance. I only ship to the lower 48 states. PLEASE, no "can I pick it up?" requests. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!!"
