D1067A & D1585A
I came across this listing on the Talkbass web site. Not sure which serial number goes with which neck, but an interesting package for someone that wants both neck options.
'69-'71 Dan Armstrong Bass. 30" scale rosewood on maple(serial # D1067A), headstock has a stained woodgrain glossy finish. It originally wore a "30-24 fret Brazilian Rosewood on maple neck (serial # D1585A), headstock finish is the same as the pick guard.. There is a gouge on the lower side of the fretboard at 4th fret bar. It was there when my brother purchased the bass in the late 70's. It doesn't affect the playability. I gigged this bass from 79-81. Sometime in the 90's, he purchased the fretless neck. Grover tuners on both with brass nuts, original electronics along with the usual flaking on the pickup. The pick guard was repaired at the input jack with brushed aluminum (nicely done). Approximately 9.5 lbs. Comes with the original case. Hasn't left the house since Spring 1981. $1400.00 shipped U.S. only."
