This nice example came up for auction in March 2014 with an asking price of $1,900 from The Music Castle of Royal Oak, Michigan. The bass seems to be in super-nice condition with no visible flaking on top of the pickup as often happens. Unfortunately, someone has changed the tuners, which diminishes the value of what might have been a collector-grade instrument. Comes with non-original HSC.

"An original Dan Armstrong Lucite bass. Serial number is D2066A. All original as far as we can tell except the machine heads have been replaced. Excellent condition, very minor surface marks, all of which could probably be buffed out. All electronics work, pots are good, bass enhance switch is scratchy, but working. Comes with a hardshell case, which we can not say as to whether it's the original or not."
