Modded along the way with a new pick guard, then a number of changes that are hard to fathom - such as one changed tuner and one turned upside down. Still, with an asking price of $1,495 on Reverb (June 2015), it's probably not too far just from parts value.
"Cosmetic Condition: The body shows some significant wear including multiple scratches and dings as well as a stable crack on the back of the body. There is a chip on the back of the body and some little engravings in the plexi near the output jack but overall the body is structurally sound. The neck lacquer has almost completely worn away but the neck is smooth overall with just some minor blemishes (notably minor gouge at the 1st fret). The headstock has some normal wear around the edges but no cracks or repairs. The tuners are mismatched and not original (3 are Grovers, 1 is generic). This bass has seen some wear over the years but is still very playable and looking good!"
"Playability: The guitar plays well with medium/high action. The truss rod is minimally functional and the action is not adjustable." "Modifications/Repairs: There is a crack in the back of the body by the neck bolts that isn’t affecting playability. There is a chipped piece of the body under the bridge that has been reglued with epoxy. A small metal rod is being used as the bridge. The tuners are not original and are mis-matched. The nut slots are cut oversized probably because the bass was played lefty. The bass side strap button stripped out so another one was drilled next to it. Thumb rest is missing." |
