D2611A
Here's a bass that's had a number of mods, all tastefully done though and the end result is something really nice. Just goes to show you where Ampeg and Dan Armstrong could have gone with the basic concept had they stayed together and put their marketing hats on. Black has always been a popular color in guitars, and when it's consistently applied as it has been here it just looks great - especially against clear Lucite. The former owner even went so far as to dye the fingerboard black, or could it be an ebony fingerboard? You have to wonder about the latter, because D2606A, D2619A and D2622A are all fretless necks. So it's not impossible that D2611A started off fretless before taking it in for all the changes.
