"1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite bass. Excellent condition. Pickup is not original. Has vintage DiMarzio mud bucker from the mid 70s. Sounds awesome and plays well. Comes with two extra bridges, thumb rest, and original hard shell case. Serial number is D737A. Hate to sell but has to go."

Back on the market in 2020 and being offered by Keith Holland Guitars of Los Gatos, CA.
"One of the more unique basses to come into our shop. This peculiar piece of history is the brainchild of the renowned luthier and session musician Dan Armstrong. Featuring a Lucite Body, Rosewood Fingerboard and Maple Neck this bass is instantly recognizable because of its clear see-through body. This bass type was famously wielded by Bill Wyman of Rolling Stones fame."
"This particular bass has a pickup from a Gibson EB-3 added to it. The bass itself is in good condition considering the age of the guitar. While the durability of the Lucite body prevents premature aging, holding the instrument up to the light reveals some instances of scratching and general wear and tear associated with playing. Otherwise the guitar is in excellent playing condition. The instrument has been expertly set up by our in house techs and is guaranteed to play great! " |
