Dan Armstrong Guitar & Bass Case
This Dan Armstrong case sold for $183 in July 2012, again all part of the process of parting out A2160D. |
This case came up for sale on ebay in May 2014. It seems to be in really nice condition, but someone along the way removed the contoured bolsters that hold the body in place. That's going to detract from value to a collector, but someone should still want it. Sold for $227.50 on June 1, 2014.
"You are looking at an original hardshell case for a Dan Armstrong Ampeg Bass, circa 1969. It is part of the collection of items I kept after retiring from my business the past 38 years, Guitar Emporium, in Louisville, KY. This case was made by the Ess & Ess Case Company in Brooklyn, New York. It is in very good condition. The latches, hinges, handle, hardware, case pocket, are all intact and in good working order. No bad odors. The interior has had the wedges removed, which created a form fit for the Dan Armstrong bass. While still functioning for this purpose, it will now house other guitars as well. If you have an original Dan Armstrong Ampeg clear Lucite bass, and don't have an original case, then this would be an excellent item to acquire." |
