Rock Treble (RT) Pickup Page
The Rock Treble (RT) pickup is the most common of the seven original Dan Armstrong pickups, as the RT was one of the two standard pickups supplied during most of the production run. On any guitar with exchangeable parts, it's pretty common for these things to get separated from the original guitar and come up for sale later. In fact, you probably see as many Dan Armstrong's with just one remaining pickup as you do with two original pickups. Although prices can vary significantly, RT's seem to average around $150 based on data from individual sales archived below.

Sold for $225 in January 2011. This one is in good condition with just some minor chipping along the edges.

Sold for $125 in November 2011, price is still dropping. The third pic of the side shows the embedded plate inside the pickup used to mount all the parts prior to encasing in epoxy. In RT's, the plate runs toward the middle of the pickup, allowing for a reasonably thick layer of epoxy on the top and bottom. |

Finally we get a big rebound in price, and this one goes for $206 in June 2012. Very crisp and clean, and just a particularly good day for the seller. |

This working RT sold for just $81 in July 2012, showing the pricing continues to be all over the map for an otherwise standard part. Condition looks to be very good, a huge bargain for the buyer. |

And now here's an RT that I bought for $149 in August 2012. Excellent condition, and price is about what you should expect for a nice working example. |

This RT came up for auction in December 2012 with an initial $45 asking price, and I'm not sure if it ever sold. The problem is that the pickup was said to be electrically dead. |

Here's a bargain. The seller said this one had "low output" and it ended up selling for just $61 in June 2013. Probably worth taking a flyer on to see what the story is. |

This Rock Treble (RT) was put up for auction in April 2014 with an initial asking price of $325. That seems high compared to prior sales, but you never know (ultimately sold for $376). The pickup seems to be in very nice condition, with only some minor shrinkage around the pole piece and a small drop of glue that should be easily scraped off.

This RT pickup is in fantastic shape with no chips in the corners and no shrinkage around the pole piece. Seller is asking $695 though, which is extremely high for an RT - stay tuned!

Came on the market in February 2016 with an asking price of $125. That seems very reasonable, even with a bit of chipping around the banana jack area.
