Here's a superb example of an intact 1971 Dan Armstrong, including the original ST and CB pickups and OEM case. Came on the market in July 2014 through internet dealer Mark's Guitar Loft at $3,300 (on consignment). After sitting for about a year, the guitar was put up for auction on Ebay in November 2015 with an asking price of $2,800. The guitar was later purchased by MGL and offered at $2,475 where it finally sold.
"All original 1971 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite guitar that comes with 2 pickups, a humbucker labelled ST - "Sustain Treble" and a CB - "Country Bass", an extra blank bridge saddle is also included. The necks on these guitars changed during the 3 years they were made, the early ones had a fatter neck but by '71 they went to a flatter, thinner feeling neck which is what this guitar has, the fingerboard on all of these guitars is Brazilian rosewood. This is a great example of these very innovative guitars and comes with the original case. Great addition to any collection!"
