This Dan Armstrong came on the market in March 2014 with an initial asking price of $2,400. Guitar seems to be in decent shape, but has undergone a number of mods including new electronics, knobs, pickguard and truss rod cover (the latter have been done in some kind of metal, likely aluminum). Non-OEM hardshell case.
Perhaps the most interesting thing here is the original wiring harness and aluminum volume/tone knobs. While there's no way of knowing whether they work, these parts are very hard to find on their own, let alone as a group with the original red connecting wires. Seller declined to sell the wiring harness separately from the guitar, perhaps assuming that the next owner might want to restore the control section back to original. That seems unlikely, as without an original (and non-cracked) formica pickguard and matching truss rod cover it would seem like a lot of work for not a lot of value.

"Greetings, RT marked pickup!"
"The guitar has few parts modified such as pickguard and truss rod cover and potentiometers and pickup switch! I do have the original potentiometers and pickup switch and knobs but currently I am unable to guarantee ALL of them are operational! The guitar's body will show just light surface scratches BUT NO CRACKS! The truss rod is operational and the neck is straight. Original frets without any divots, no gouges! Small chip on the back of the headstock corner and inscribed driver's license number (you go figure). Non original hard shell case included! Thank you!" |
