D-Plex
This modified bass came on the market in August 2011 with an asking price of $1,699. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a serial number as a reference, but the slot-head screws holding down the bridge suggest this is an early 1969 model. Comes with the OEM case.
"Original (not a copycat) vintage Danny Armstrong bass with orig. case. There have been some modifications and restoration done to make it a playable unit. New set of strings . Neck has been restored and professionally adjusted. Original cracked pickguard removed and replaced with clear plexi for more dramatic see-thru effect. New pots and wiring done professionally. It has fender bass knobs instead the original ones which looked cheap and faded. The body has some minor scratches and a bump in the back which can be repaired if you have a clear filler. For more photos email me. Continental US shipping only."

Yep, back on the market in May 2017 with an asking price of $1,999.95 (also known as 2 grand). Although we haven't been able to get the serial number, this is an early '69 bass with the oversized pickup route and slot-style screws holding down the bridge plate. The pickup dates to 1971 though, and can't tell if the wiring is original or was changed out along with the knobs.
"This is a rare vintage '69-70 Dan Armstrong Bass. Missing pickguard. Clear temp. pickguard had been installed. It's ready to plug 'n play as the electronics has been cleaned up to prevent noises/crackling. All original except Fender knobs. You'll be receiving 1 original Dan Armstrong knob. Original vintage hardshell case! There are some body scratches and 1 small bump as shown which was somewhat repaired, signs of 45+ yrs of use. Neck is straight and has been refinished. It has new strings, and orig. Schallers. We'll throw in a brand new extra set of strings as well. Overall, extremely well sounding and smooth playing machine as they're known to be."
