This original example came on the market in March 2016 and quickly sold for the $999.99 buy-it-now price. The issue seems to be the pickup and whether it still works, so the new buyer might be looking at a Kent Armstrong replacement. Serial number seems to have been stamped with a lot of ink, but looks to be D610A.

"Up for auction is an original Ampeg Dan Armstrong clear bass from 69/70 with original hard shell case. Can't seem to get pickup to work. But bass looks good, And someone with electronics experience could fix it. Or If you have an extra pickup this could be a bargain for you. Being sold as "Not working, needs repair."
