This bass was purchased in December 2014 by the third owner and comes intact with its original pickup, thumb rest and OEM case. Interestingly, a prior owner had installed a clear pickguard, but kept the original formica guard which has recently been re-installed by the current owner. Yes it has a small chip near one of the screws, but vintage is not about being perfect it's about keeping the original parts on the instrument. Nice clear set of photos too, and notice how perfectly the serial number is stamped on the neck - in contrast to some of the wandering serial numbers early in the manufacturing run.

October 2015 Update - the same bass and same set of pics is now coming up on Reverb from seller Geoffy's Used Gear Purveyance in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada ($2,150). Here's the latest description:

"Condition issues?:

have a look at the pick guard - that old Formica chipped away on the one screw closest to the strap buttons
speaking of strap buttons, one of the originals never came with it when I got it
under where the thumb rest goes, the holes are chipped from the wrong screws being put in there
in the control cavity, there's a perfectly fit Robertson screw (one of three) holding the pick-up in (Canadiana for the win!)"

"I'm not making any money this bass, and shipping stuff out of Canada is both a pain and extravagantly expensive (our country has a million less people than California). It needs a good home. It's priced competitively, and I'm not a monster, so I'll entertain reasonable offers but I have my number."
